Below is attached a copy of the Year 5/6 spelling words.
It's been a wonderful first week back and we've welcomed Mr Geary into the Buckden family. In English, we've started our new book Floodlands - a dystopian fiction that tells the story of East Anglia once the seas rise and cities become islands. The children are loving it and will be creating their own character to fit into the narrative next week for our main character, Zoe, to interact with.
In Maths, we've begun Area and scaling with a separate focus on converting improper fractions to whole numbers. On Monday and Wednesday, as we are doing NFL football and field hockey, respectively, please ensure pupils have a change of socks and a warm PE kit as they will be outside in all weather.
For Music, Year 5 has begun African drumming and in Art they're explored styles of observational drawing before preparing for their sculptures. In History, we've looked at why the Anglo-Saxons invaded Britain and their influence on Britain.
Could we respectfully ask all parents to check their child's pencil case to ensure they have a glue, whiteboard pen, pencil and handwriting pen (if they have a pen pass).
