Welcome back to school, and we hope you had a lovely holiday period. 

In English, we are studying Why the Whales Came by Michael Morpurgo. It is a wonderful story based on the Isles of Scilly and is set during the First World War. The children pinpointed the location and looked at the geography of the archipelago. This has helped them to set the scene of the book and predict the story.

During Art, we are using Jason Vincent Scarpace as our artist inspiration for this term. The children will be designing a fish and then roll out clay in their design. The children will get the chance to fire their fish in the kiln. 

The children enjoyed sport this week and have started hockey and are learning a dance as a collective.
